What is a Work Sequence and why does it matter?
Method Statement
A method statement describes how a specific activity will be carried out on site. The work sequence is its backbone - it tells the team the correct order of operations.
Why order matters
Skipping steps or working out of sequence leads to rework, safety incidents, and NCRs. E.g. - painting before plastering is cured, or waterproofing before substrate inspection.
Inspection Hold Points
Each sequence includes a pre-activity inspection step. This is a contractual requirement under most FIDIC and MoW contracts - work cannot proceed without Engineer approval at hold points.
ITP / QA Documentation
Use the generated sequence in your Inspection Test Plan (ITP). Each step maps to a checklist item. This is what the QC engineer checks before signing off each stage.
